Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has stated that the unsolicited defence of the killer General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division of the Nigerian Army by the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi may not be unconnected to amorous links to the wives of officers.
Governor Wike also berated the GOC 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Jamil Sarham, who hatched the assassination attempt, for putting up a false and watery defence. Speaking on the attempt by the Minister of Transportation to trivialize the weighty assassination attempt against him by the GOC 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Governor Wike said it is unfortunate that the Minister appointed himself the spokesman of the killer GOC. Governor Wike said:
“It is unfortunate that the Minister of Transportation has become the spokesman of the GOC 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Jamil Sarham. “I hope his defence of the GOC has no relationship with the wives of the officers, because we know him. When he starts defending like this, we hope his eyes are not looking into the homes of the officers.”
