There is this age long maxim that says ‘Success without a successor is failure in disguise’. Today, this wise saying is being made manifest in Anambra state as the good people of the state have continued to bemoan what they refer to as unfortunate taking back to Egypt by this current Administration.
Recall that the immediate past governor of the state, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi recorded tremendous success in almost all facets of development within his eight years tenure. Obi in his days employed and appointed the finest of technocrats to work with, and together they formulated the developmental blueprint known as ANAMBRA INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY (ANIDS). With this initiative, every sector of the state saw a massive face lift in terms of development.
Through ANIDS, Peter Obi re-positioned the education sector by rehabilitating schools, donating brand new buses, computer systems, library and laboratory equipment to ALL primary and secondary schools within the state. This singular gesture by the governor transformed into a huge opportunity for excellence, as most secondary schools in the state became national and international spotlights.
