New York Governor Cuomo To Receive Emmy Award On Monday Governor Andrew Cuomo
The death toll in New York State has risen to 10,056, Gov. Andrew Cuomo confirmed on Monday.

The figures rose following a one-day increase of 671.

However, Cuomo said he thinks the worst of Coronavirus in New York is over.

“I think you can say the worst is over, we have control of the spread.

“The curve appears to have flattened, along with the slowing death rate,” Cuomo said.

The governor added that the state could now begin to plot a path back to normalcy.

He, however, warned that this would take time and only come in stages.

Cuomo added that he was working with the governors of neighbouring states to coordinate a plan for reopening businesses and schools, in order to best ensure containment.

He described reopening as a “delicate balance,” that will require intensive testing and monitoring to ensure there is not a resurgent outbreak.

More than 22,000 people have died from complications related to COVID-19 across the US, according to a report by Johns Hopkins University.
