Test COVID-19 Vaccine On Govt Officials First - KaruaMartha Wangari Karua

Kenyan politician and advocate of social Justice, Martha Wangari Karua has cried out against the plot to test the new Coronavirus vaccine on Kenyan citizens.

She said that instead of testing it en-masse on Kenyan Citizens, the Government officials and top politicians in the countries should be allowed to pioneer the testing process so that they can be able to detect the flaws firsthand.

“Now that @MOH_Kenya says kenya is open to testing of British vaccines in kenya let them be tested on members of the cabinet and their families and thereafter all elected representatives and senior government officials.” Read a tweet from Martha Karua.

This decision was met with a huge backlash from Kenyan citizens as they wondered why the vaccine should be first brought to Kenya as they still had relatively low amounts of Coronavirus cases.

Ministry of Health

However, the Ministry of Health on Friday refuted claims that they had welcomed the testing on Kenyans saying they are not aware of any trials. Speaking during the daily COVID-19 briefing, Health CAS Rashid Aman noted that there are ethical procedures that must be followed before approving clinical trials on Kenyans.
