Italy Sunday recorded a decrease in daily death toll and new coronavirus case count for the first time since March.
The Civil Protection Agency said its daily death toll from the COVID-19 epidemic fell to 145 on Sunday, the lowest since March 9, against 153 the day before.
It also recorded a decrease in the daily tally of new cases, it fell to a March-4 low of 675 from 875 on Saturday.
Since the outbreak, Italy’s death toll now stands at 31,908, the third-highest in the world after the United States and Britain.
However, in global tally, the country has the sixth-highest confirmed cases with 225,435 counts, behind those of the United States, Spain, Britain, Russia and Brazil.
Active cases fell to 68,351 from 70,187 the day before.
