Former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has commiserated with Rivers State Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike over the death of his media aide, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu who passed on last Sunday.
The former President described late Nwakaudu as a thoroughbred journalist who displayed courage in carrying out his duties, adding that he was at the forefront of explaining and defending the policies of Rivers State Government.
In a condolence message he personally signed, Dr. Jonathan wrote: “I received with shock the news of the sudden passing on of your media aide, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, who died on Saturday after a brief illness.
“I condole with you, the Nwakaudu family, professional colleagues, and the Government of Rivers State whom he served faithfully and loyally.
“Mr. Nwakaudu was a thoroughbred journalist and public relations professional who displayed unflinching loyalty and courage in the discharge of his duties.
“I know his death is a great loss to you, Wike his family, and the Government of Rivers State, as he was a principal staff of your administration, who was at the forefront of explaining and defending policies and programmes of your government.
“I want you to take solace in the fact that Simeon Nwakudu lived a life of service and dedication. He will be missed by many members of the society. On behalf of my family, please accept my condolences.”
