The Warri North Council Chairman in Delta State, Hon. Adughe Okorodudu who was abducted on Saturday night was in the early hours of Tuesday morning released by his abductors.
It was not clear if any ransom was paid for the release of the Council Chairman.
When contacted for comments, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa confirmed the report in a telephone chat with Our Correspondent.
CP Inuwa said, “That’s what we heard. But we are yet to get across to him. No official confirmation now, but we learnt he has been released. ”
It would be recalled that the Council Chairman who was in company of his driver was kidnapped by gunmen on Saturday night along Mabiaku road in Warri South Local Government Area.
The gunmen waylaid the Council Chairman’s vehicle and shot his driver on the leg before they whisked him to an unknown destination.
