The 45th President of the United States, Donald John Trump has had more controversies within the last four of his presidential tenure than any of his predecessors.

These controversies ranging from his unguarded utterances to the latest one being his refusal to concede defeat to Joe Biden, the United States President-Elect are contributing in no small measure in making him the most notorious President of the United States who seems to be Hellbound on destroying the age-long reputation of the American democracy which is the envy of the world.
The November 2020 Presidential Election which began fully on the 3rd, and saw Joe Biden emerging as the President-Elect after defeating the incumbent President Trump in a flawless victory both with the Popular and Electoral College Votes on Saturday, the 7th infuriated the living daylights out of President Trump who had erroneously thought that he would have beaten Biden in the election regardless of his recent unacceptability by the American populace hence the reason he is now making unfounded claims about the election being a fraudulent one. Trump has been alleging that there were electoral malpractices orchestrated by the Democrats to supplant and rig him out but very unfortunate, he and his team have not been able to come up with any substantial evidence to prove that the election was manipulated in favour of Biden.
The issue here as regards Trump honourably accepting defeat is that, he is a man that never takes responsibility for any mistake or failure, he will always shift the blame to others rather than being man enough to accept the fact that he was actually the architect of his own failure. His failure at the election, did not just happen overnight, it was not a sudden flight. Americans and the pragmatic individuals outside her shores, who had been following the events in the country ever since Trump saddled the leadership of the United States, would definitely attest to the fact that Trump’s foray into partisan politics had brought nothing but misery to the revered United States, and her citizenry. And narrowly defeating Hillary Clinton in 2016 due to the mere fact that the United States was at that point not really ready to have a female President, clearly made Trump’s ascension to the coveted position of the United States Presidency accidental.
President Trump would be living in delusion or complete denial if he claimed certainty that he deserved to win the United States 2020 Presidential Election. Trump’s many unsavoury treatments to the American citizenry, and nonchalant attitudes towards governance of the American polity were the things that necessitated his loss in the election. Did President Trump think that the struggling American working class who are up to 35% of the country’s population would easily forget how he had promised them tax cuts? Trump in his usual style of swindling things in his favour, had boasted in September 2017 while tenaciously pushing the tax package that, ‘This is a revolutionary change and the biggest winners will be the everyday American workers as jobs start pouring into our country, as companies start competing for American labour, and as wages start going up at levels that you haven’t seen in many years’. But did this work? Hell no!
Over 400 richest families in the United States in 2018 had to pay an average tax at 23% while more than half of the struggling American masses paid a higher rate than the super rich at 24.2%, University of California economists affirmed. President Trump’s tax cuts in practicality have not been beneficial to the American economy. It has neither led to increase in employment nor worker’s wages. Currently, the United States has a national deficit of $1 trillion, yet Trump still brags and peddles falsehood about how the American economy is doing well under his watch.
While Trump was still ‘glorying’ in his falsehood then, the Coranavirus arrived, and instead of taking the necessary measures to prevent the spread of the disease by adhering strictly to the Pandemic Play Book, the Obama’s administration provided his government with, Trump relegated the Play Book to the trash after undermining the virus as a ‘Hoax’. Then Americans began to die in their numbers due the negligence of Trump and his administration to follow the simple laid down procedures in preventing the spread of the virus. And because of Trump’s inaction, the United States has had thus over 10.1 million cases of Coronavirus including Trump, himself who had just recovered from the virus and 238,000 deaths yet Trump has not not come to terms that the virus truly exists instead he is still believing someone like Dr. Stella Immanuel who is in dire need of the presidential support to save her licence after being sued for professional negligence and ignorantly believes, and postulates that the virus can be cured with Hydroxychloroquine without substantial empirical evidence.
As if the above challenges were not enough, Trump failed to condemn the racial injustice, and attacks on the African Americans instead endorsing the White Supremacy. His body language which cared less about the brutal murder of George Floyd in cold blood made him to lose a considerable number of his supporters from the African-American community which constitute 13.4% of the population of the United States, and being the second largest community just after the Caucasian which stands at 76.3%.
Then came the Portland, Oregon incident where the ‘Proud Boys’ shot the protesters with pepper spray and dove into the crowd; this time, he applauded them in a tweet, which read:
‘GREAT PATRIOTS!’.
While Trump was having his fun just like when playing his favourite bourgeois game – Golf, running the United States, the way he wanted, not necessarily by the ancient ideals of the country; without giving a hoot about Americans, and the legacy that the great country had been known for, for well over two centuries, Americans watched, shook their heads in dismay and waited for the election to kick him out through their votes, and this they did in their teeming numbers. Trump can keep pretending that he deserved reelection but a cursory look at both past and present events in the United States will immediately reaffirm the fact that the recent United States election was genuinely free and fair. Former President George Bush, Trump’s fellow Republican member had already corroborated the fairness and freeness by congratulating President-Elect Joe Biden, other prominent personalities who shared Bush’s view and did the same were; Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Justin Tradeu.
Also, Trump’s wife, First Lady Melania, Trump’s son-in-law, Jareed Krushner and his Senior Adviser had already asked him to concede defeat having found out that Trump was not rigged out but truly lost the election. Sadly, Trump’s egoistic nature seems not to allow him to heed their noble advice, and at this juncture, one can only hope that this vice, that is a habitual constituent of his nature does not destroy further whatever virtue that is left of his personality.
If the Democrats really rigged the Presidential Election to favour Biden, they would have certainly rigged the other ones as well so that the likes of Lindsey Graham and Mitchell Mcconnel would not have been reelected Senators but because there was no such thing as rigging, Senators Lindsey Graham and Mitch Mcconnel got their victories individually despite being members of the opposition Republican party.
It is most unfair for Senator Graham to be insisting that President Trump should not concede defeat in spite of the fact that the President was defeated in probably, the freest and fairest of the United States Presidential Election in recent times. It would be in the best interest of President Donald John Trump to listen to the voice of reason, honourably concede defeat to President-Elect Joe Biden, and work with him in sincerity towards making sure that the United states does not lose her glory of being number 1 in the ranks of world power countries in modern times.
