Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has reacted to the most recent abduction by bandits, this time he said the bandits behind the kidnap of the Zamfara schoolgirls were not the bandits he recently met but a splinter group.
Gumi however told newsmen, that he may also help in reaching out to bandits who carried out today’s attack should they be open for negotiations.

The Islamic scholar, who sounded like he reached out to the bandit leaders he recently met, stated emphatically that ‘They are not the ones that abducted the girls. It is a splinter group.’
When asked whether he would be going to Zamfara to meet the bandits for talks and plea for the release of the schoolgirls, Sheikh Gumi simply said, ‘maybe‘ but declined to provide further details.
