SA Diaspora Imo State will be appearing as a Special Guest tonight at 8pm UK time (9pm in Nigeria) on a Zoom session with Drug Free World Africa Organisation. The main guest of tonight’s chat session is the Special Adviser to Imo State Governor on Health, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Lina Okereke.
Both of these 3R Government Officials will be contributing to the conversation surrounding ‘ways to tackle drug abuse in Imo State’. As you may already know, nearly 15% of the adult population in Nigeria alone are reported to be drug users. This ratio is much higher than the 2016 global average of 5.6%. Psychoactive drug substances such as Cannabis, Heroin, Cocaine, opioids, even cough syrups are now causing fatal overdoses amongst our young people. This matter undoubtedly now needs urgent attention.

Tonight’s session will be relaxed and engaging, it is highly likely that several individuals, stakeholders, Diasporans and Imolites at home will be tuning in to share their opinions, ask questions and join hands with the DFWA organisation in finding the way forward.
