There was a lot of combined effort meted out by the dutiful indigenes of Ubowalla to make sure that the event would be a landmark, never-seen-before gathering. The men of Ubowalla tasked themselves to overseeing the renovation of the community house and the roads leading to the village, they also threw their backs into other little tasks that proved to be very vital to the ceremony. The women themselves made sure that the aroma of their wonderful native delicacies travelled all the way to neighbouring kindreds to tell them about the magnificent ‘doings’ in their village.
For their efforts, they were rewarded with a wonderful turn out of guests from all over the country and the International community as Ubowalla was turned into a mecca of some sorts.
The people of Ubowalla demonstrated the full meaning of brotherhood and community effort, this is what other communities in Nigeria should consider emulating as it would further foster peace among the community members.
