As widely anticipated before its release, Williams Uchemba’s ‘Mamba’s Diamond’ has broken a lot of film boundaries that have never been crossed by any Nollywood flick.
The veteran actor who some months ago teased his fans about the new release of his blockbuster in partnership with Veemost Entertainment which was also his first foray into the world of mainstream directing and production had boasted that the film would surely be a one of a kind project that would realign and revitalise the aspect of filmmaking in Africa. 13th of May saw him making good of his claims as the film enthusiasts praised the amount of effort that was put into the creation of the masterpiece.

A week after its release, the action-comedy genred Mamba’s Diamond continues to impress film critics who have sworn that Williams Uchemba is the next ‘big thing’ in the world of film production if he reenacts the level of expertise and dedication which he put into the creation of Mamba’s Diamond.
The film which was directed by Seyi Babatope, and had the African-American Information and Communication Technology guru – Melvin Ejiogu as one of the Executive Producers; Darlington Abuda as Producer was shot in locations like an actual goldmine in South Africa, Sierra Leone, New York and Lagos, Nigeria. It also stars Gabriel Afolayan (as Elenu), Osas Ighodaro (as Eloho), and Williams Uchemba (as Obi) playing the lead roles. Also parts of the cast include Nse Ikpe-Etim (as Mamba), Jimmy Odukoya (as Jay), Sam Dede, Ejike Asiegbu, Dibor Adaobi Lilian, Ayo Makun, Nancy Isime, Venita Akpofure, amongst others.
It tells the story of a comic heist which features two amateur thieves who hatched a reckless doomed-to-fail plan to jack a car and then they end up in an inadvertently successful diamond heist. The theft of the diamond brings them more troubles as it belongs to a deadly fraternity who have sworn to make them pay for the loss.
