Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has declared that his party, the All Progressives Congress, (APC), is not interested in Igbo presidency.
Uzodinma made this revelation when he spoke while dismissing claims of APC zoning its presidential ticket to the Southeast.
Appearing on a Channels Television program which was monitored by Africa Today News, New York on Friday, Uzodinma maintained that APC is looking for a Nigerian president and not a South East president.

Asked if APC is committed to zoning the 2023 presidential ticket to the South-East, he responded: ‘We are not looking for an Igbo President. We are looking for a President of Nigeria.
‘We as a party APC believe what we are practicing here is partisan democracy and every politician must be loyal to his party.
‘At the end of the day it is the decision of the party that you belong to that will matter.’
Different speculations have continued to mount over the zoning of the 2023 elections with many believing that the South Eastern zone should get the presidency on basis of fairness and equity.
