Bukola Saraki, former Senate President in the 8th National Assembly, on Tuesday joined other party members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to participate in the Ilorin West Local Government congress election.
He was spotted at Ajikobi ward, Agbaji area of Ilorin, where he performed his re-registration membership of the party.
He later joined other party members including ward delegates at the Ilorin West Local Government secretariat of the party at Agbooba, in Ilorin.
Africa Daily News, New York reports that the local government congress election was held in all the 16 local government areas of the state on Tuesday.

Addressing the party members at the secretariat, Saraki, said the peaceful and orderly conduct of the local government congress, indicated that the leading opposition party, was ready to provide good leadership and governance in the state if, the party’s candidate is voted to power in 2023.
He charged the newly elected party executives to justify the confidence reposed in them and prove that they can perform.
‘Let us go and prepare for 2023 general elections, it is clear that PDP government is what the people want.’
‘We are committed and it is left for us to go all out and sell the message of hope to our people. The PDP is the only party in the state that is united and peaceful.’
‘For the progress of the state, it is the PDP, we are ready to provide leadership come 2023 general elections,” Dr Saraki further stated.’
The party’s leadership in the state, in a statement by its spokesman, Tunde Ashaolu, in Ilorin on Tuesday, commended the smooth conduct of the congress exercise.
Congratulating the newly elected executives across the 16 local governments of the state, the leadership hailed the maturity and peaceful conduct of the party members in the exercise.
The statement asked the new executives to see their election as a call to serve and further contribute to the growth and development of the party.
