Former Governor of Lagos State and National leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu Wednesday afternoon met All Progressives Congress (APC) senators at the National Assembly to intimate them on his Presidential bid.
The APC national leader disclosed that he is seeking counsel, partnership, and support from lawmakers for his presidential ambition.
Tinubu said the presidential elections scheduled for February next year cannot be won by his efforts alone.
He called on the federal lawmakers support and help him get nominated so he can succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
In his response, the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, said the APC Senate caucus is a major pillar of the party and has shown loyalty and commitment to the ideals of the party.
He informed Tinubu that in the course of fighting for the unity of the party the lawmakers are with him.
Africa Today News, New York recalls that Tinubu, had recently hit back at those criticising him over his fragile physical status insisting that he needs more strength psychologically than physically, to be president in 2023.
Tinubu made this comment when he visited the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Jimoh Olanipekun recently.
Tinubu who has been going about on a tour of consultations was in Osun State to inform the monarch of his political ambition.
Africa Daily News, New York reports that there have been serious concerns from observers over Tinubu’s health status, following his recent medical trip to the United Kingdom.
Tinubu, had recently described himself as a youth amidst the clamour for youth Presidency in 2023.
Tinubu made the comment amid the clamour for young persons to take power. Those comments led to a lot of backlash on social media from Nigerian youths who didn’t find it funny.
