The Government of Imo State through the ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts on Thursday officially announced the listing of the ingenious Paddy Obinna Arts Gallery as a tourist site in the State.
Africa Today News, New York reports that the Arts Gallery which was officially launched a week ago in a widely celebrated event which also marked the 78-year-old birthday celebration of the curator of the Arts Gallery, Nda Paddy Obinna.
Located in Umuocham-Emekuku, Owerri North LGA, the arts gallery is home to what is perhaps the best personal Arts Gallery in Southeastern Nigeria.
The honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Culture and Tourism in the State, Hon, Uche Ohia who announced the decision of the State Government to list the Arts gallery as Tourism site also disclosed that the Governor of the State, Senator Hope Uzodinma has also approved the inclusion of the birthday of the curator of the Arts gallery into the Imo State Culture and Tourism Calendar.

The letter to the curator which was made available to Africa Today News, New York read in part; ‘Be informed that your newly introduced PADDY OBINNA GALLERY OPEN DAY on March 13, has been approved for inclusion in the Imo State Culture and Tourism Calendar an an Annual Event’.
‘Take note that you are expected to ensure proper maintenance professional efficiency, high standards of operation and visitor reception at the Gallery in consonance with the tourism friendly policy of the administration of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State aimed at making Imo State an estimable tourism destination’
Africa Today News, New York reports that the 78- year-old Paddy Obinna is an illustrious son of the State who has contributed his quota to the development of the State through the preservation of arts and culture for future generations.
