The Tinubu Vanguard, a political support group has dismissed any threats to the mandate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a result of the exit of Mr Abdulmumin Jubrin.

In a statement on Sunday, the Director-General (D-G) of Tinubu Vanguard, Dr Johnny Benjamin said Jubrin’s decision to quit the APC was personal and is enough to be respected.

Jubrin, who was the Director-General of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Support Groups Management Council (BATSGMC), had taken people by surprise on Saturday when he announced his decision to quit the APC. While making the decision, he gave irreconcilable differences within the APC in his home state of Kano as a reason for his decision.

According to Benjamin, Jubrin has the right to decide which political party is best for him to pursue his ambition.

“We call on the leadership and members of all support groups to remain calm.

“Tinubu is committed to the project of repositioning Nigeria and we are determined to ensure that he gets the opportunity to do so by delivering victory at the polls.

“We call on him to urgently address pending issues within the support groups to enable us work effectively towards achieving success in the party primaries and the general elections,” he said.

Meanwhile a cleric, Rev. Charles Ngugu, on Sunday called on Christians to involve God in solving their ‘storms of life’, to get permanent solutions.

Ngugu gave the admonition while delivering a homily at Anglican Church of Ascension, Enugu.

The cleric spoke on the theme: “A Sure Anchor in the Storms of Life”.

Ngugu said that such storms or challenges of life could be lack of money, marital problems, children not doing well or being unruly and quarrelsome neighbors disturbing one’s peace.

He said: “God, our Father in Heaven, is aware of every storm and challenge in our lives and He is ever ready to assist us or provide a solution to them all.

“As a Christian, you must seek for help from above where perfect and permanent solutions are given to stormy issues of life.

“At times men can also offer help but most times their help would have a demand or sacrifice following it.

“Also, the help men do offer can also be a temporary relief that will not last for long.’’

The cleric, however, prayed that Almighty God would help the nation over all its challenges, especially that of insecurity and hatred (man’s inhumanity to man).

“I will enjoin all Christians to truly come to God with sobriety, repentance and genuinely ask Him to solve their storms and I bet you with time there will be positive testimonies coming,” he said.
