Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, the Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade has obtained his nomination and expression of interest forms on the platform the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
Ayade picked his forms at the International Conference Centre in Abuja alongside several aspirants vying for various electoral offices ahead of Tuesday’s deadline for the sale of forms in APC.
Group of supporters of Rivers State purchased the form for Ayade to contest the presidency and handed it over to him in Abuja.
With this, Ayade has thrown his hat into the ring.

In April, Ayade declared to run for President. According to him, he received approval from the President, Muhammadu Buhari.
Addressing his supporters while accepting the forms in Abuja Monday, the presidential hopeful said he has governed Cross Rivers well and can do the same for the entire country.
In a related development, members of the Miyetti Allah cattle rearers association have purchased the 2023 presidential form for former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The group, Africa Today News, New York gathered purchased the form for the ex-president on Monday.
Recall that Jonathan, while addressing some youths who stormed his house a few weeks ago, urging him to join the presidential race, said he was not ready.
At the moment, it is unclear if Jonathan would accept the form to join the race.
Jonathan is yet to announce his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
He took over power when the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua died in 2010 and contested the 2011 election, which he won.
He lost his reelection to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and acknowledged defeat before the final collation of the election results.
