APC Shifts Zonal Congresses To Convention Day

The Cross Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) has been engulfed in a new scandal ahead of the presidential primary scheduled for June 6th -8th, over the plausible ‘fraudulent delegates‘ list sent by the State Working Committee (NWC) to the National Working Committee (NWC).

According to stakeholders, SWC has no jurisdiction to override delegate lists without following authorised procedures and party constitutions.

Mr. Francis Ekpenyong, representing the interests of the Cross Rivers Authentic Adhoc National Delegates, released a statement on Wednesday imploring Senator Abdullahi Adamu to nullify the State Working Committee’s ‘fraudulent’ list of national delegates.

‘The attention of members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Cross River State Chapter has been drawn to the fraudulent, meddlesome interference and day-light theft of the mandate of members of the party in the state who were elected National delegates in the just-concluded National delegates election of 17th May 2022’ The stakeholders stated

‘As members and stakeholders, we are very concerned and write to state that the party should follow its constitution and guidelines as it relates to the National delegate lists submitted to the party.’

According to the stakeholders, the original people who paid for nomination forms participated in the process and were elected as National Delegates for their respective Local Government Areas in the state.

They claimed that on May 17, 2022, the genuine national delegates were elected, and that the names of the party’s SWC members were not included.

In addition the stakeholders said: ‘We make bold to say that the so-called National delegate lists presented to the party by the State Working Committee Members of the party was based on a poorly scripted skit comedy shot by the State Chairman of the party and his co-conspirators.’

The stakeholders urged the NWC to disregard the forged delegate list and follow the delegate lists provided to the National Secretary on the 17th of May 2022, which was the date the National delegate election took place across the state’s 18 local government areas.
