The Nigerian Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola has finally come out to formally disown the controversial Facebook post on his Facebook page which had celebrated the victory of Ademola Adeleke in the Osun governorship election while mocking the incumbent Governor Oyetola.
The post which culled a verse from Daniel in the Bible had also appeared to be a direct jab at the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Titled, Osun Le Tente (Osun victorious), the verse says: “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.”
The cryptic message suggested that all power belongs to God and not to any man, gloating over Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s defeat.
After the post triggered unsavoury backlash, he pulled it down after one hour.
His media adviser, Sola Fasure issued a statement Sunday, dissociating the minister from the post.

In another report, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu on Sunday stated that he was yet to be informed if a winner has emerged in the governorship election in Osun State which was held on Saturday.
Adamu’s statement came on the heels of the defeat of the party’s candidate, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola by the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke in the elections which was keenly contested over the weekend.
Africa Today News, New York recalls that Oyetola had polled 375,027 votes and won in 13 local government areas of the state to come second behind Adeleke in the election.
When pressed to make comment after the election, the governor said the leadership of the APC in the state will respond to the result of Saturday’s governorship poll after studying it.
