Amidst the ongoing flood disaster which has devastated many states in Nigeria, the Wife of the Presidential candidate of the APC, Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Tuesday announced a donation of the sum of ₦10 million to victims of the disaster in Benue state.
Africa Today News, New York reports that Senator Tinubu made the donation yesterday at Presidential Lodge at Benue Peoples House, Makurdi, when she embarked on a visit to the state to sympathize with those displaced by flooding in some parts of the state.
Mrs. Tinubu who was accompanied on the visit by the wife of the APC vice presidential candidate, Mrs. Nana Shettima, Mrs. Regina Akume, state APC governorship candidate, Hyacinth Alia, and his running mate, Sam Ode, pointed out that she has always had a good relationship with the people of Benue state and as such what affects the people also affects her.
She had expressed optimism that the relief items, including cartons of Indomie, spaghetti, macaroni, sugar, beverages, rubber cups and disposable plates, will provide succour to the victims.

She also urged those affected by the flood not to be weighed down by the situation but continue to hold on.
Receiving Senator Tinubu in Makurdi, the wife of the Benue Governor, Mrs Eunice Ortom, assured that the relief materials she donated to the state will be judiciously distributed to the victims of the flood.
She, on behalf of the government and people of the state, expressed appreciation to Senator Tinubu for the visit to identify with the flood victims, stating that her visit rekindled hope in the flood victims.
Ortom mandated the Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Emmanuel Shior, to ensure judicious distribution of the relief materials to only those who have been affected by the flood.
