The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has asserted that none of his opponents in the 2023 presidential elections can match his track record.
The former governor of Lagos state and national leader of the APC also asserted that during his time as governor, he unveiled what he described as the ‘legacy of technocratic governance which was instituted by enlisting talent from the private sector. Insecurity and crime were tackled through better funding the police force’.
Africa Today News, New York reports that Tinubu has continually boasted of his achievements during his tenure as governor of the economic capital of Nigeria.

In an opinion piece published in The Economist which was , Tinubu said, ‘For this vital task, I have a track record my competitors cannot match. During my tenure as governor of Lagos between 1999 and 2007, the state went from being a difficult, often dangerous place to a development success story.
‘We quadrupled state tax revenues, putting those funds directly to work through investing in public services and infrastructure. A legacy of technocratic governance was instituted by enlisting talent from the private sector.
‘Insecurity and crime were tackled through better funding the police force. Investment and the business sector thrived. Today, Lagos would rank among Africa’s ten largest economies and does not rely on oil revenues to fund its budget’.
Meanwhile, ahead of next week’s elections, Governor Nyesom Wike has asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the required character and courage necessary to spearhead the leadership of Nigeria.
Tinubu who paid Tinubu a courtesy call at the Government House, Port Harcourt, shortly after the APC candidate’s campaign rally for Rivers Wednesday, said he owes nobody apologies for making the declarative endorsement while wishing Tinubu luck in his presidential bid.
The Rivers governor, however, called on Tinubu not to encourage further funding on the APC guber candidate in Rivers, Tonye Cole, stressing that he has no chance against Siminaliayi Fubura, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who Wike projects to succeed him.
