Reports reaching the desk of Africa Today News, New York reports that some senior members of the Labour Party in the North-West region have declared their support for Bola Tinubu who is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on behalf of some LP members in the region on Sunday, Bashir Ishaq disclosed their readiness to back Tinubu’s emergence in the February 25 election.
Ishaq who is effectively the leader of the Game Changers For Asiwaju/Shettima, said they have all defected from the LP to the APC.

He said, ‘As a coalition of LP gubernatorial, senatorial and house of representatives and house of assembly members from the north-west, chairmen and members of campaign council, members of the gubernatorial campaign council in Kano and the north-west and zonal state coordinators, we have decided as a group to unanimously endorse the candidature of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
‘We have also resolved to leverage our existing political structures to work on the mobilisation and swinging of votes to ensure his emergence as the president of the federal republic of Nigeria in the 2023 presidential election.
‘We shall be known as the Game Changers for Asiwaju/Shettima 2023 and our slogan is ‘swinging votes’.
‘By decision, we have also made the firm decision that we have returned to the fold of the All Progressives Congress.’
In another report, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu has asserted that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) naira redesign policy was designed purely to target the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sen Bola Tinubu.
Kachikwu made this assertion while expressing his concern over the hardship being faced by Nigerians due to the CBN naira redesign.
The ADC presidential flagbearer pointed this out in a news conference on Friday in Abuja.
