The governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, has appealed to the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, to work towards integrating Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, into his government when he comes to power.
Umahi made this known on Monday while speaking during the commissioning of the remodeled Community Secondary school, in Obio-Akpor local government area, Rivers State.
The Ebonyi State governor said Wike has “a lot to offer for the unity of the country” which would be highly beneficial to the Tinubu-led Federal Government.
‘We all need to understand the mind of God as soon as you trace beyond the ordinary eyes the emergence of Bola Tinubu as the president-elect of Nigeria and Kashim Shettima as the president-elect which I see as the act of God.
‘I, however, commend Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for the great role he played in Tinubu winning the 2023 presidential election as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).’

‘And for this, Tinubu needs to integrate Wike into his government after his swearing-in because he has a lot to offer the country. And it’s not all about parties. He has a lot to offer.
“It’s about the unit of the country and also about how to move this country forward. It’s about how to reunite our people. I just wanted to say please bring Governor Wike into the federal government.”
Afric Today News, New York reports that Wike, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is reported to have worked for Tinubu during the presidential election after a fallout with Atiku Abubakar.
The Rivers State governor’s reported alliance with Tinubu was preceded by a meeting with APC governors in 2022. They include former Ekiti State governor Kayode Fayemi; his Ondo State counterpart and chairman of the Southern governors forum, Rotimi Akeredolu, and Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
