All has not been heard of building collapses in Lagos State as a three-floor building under construction collapsed on Sunday at Ladipo Oluwole Street in the Apapa area of the state.
The Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Mukaila Sanusi who is the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) disclosed that the agency has sealed the premises.
A statement by the spokesperson accused the developer of shunning the agency’s “Stop work and Seal up orders” and continued construction.
Sanusi disclosed that the incident triggered immediate preliminary enquiries that showed officers issued a number of contravention notices.

‘The developer carried on construction without recourse to the authorities. There has been no report of any casualty, while the site has been cordoned off and taken over by LASBCA,’ he noted.
Sanusi said the latest collapse, like similar others, reinforces the government’s calls for responsible behaviour on the part of all stakeholders.
The agency added that the Lagos Government has commenced further inquiries into the collapse to unravel the details and guide appropriate actions.
The incident in Apapa occurred 24 hours after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu visited the site of the April 12 collapse in Banana Island, Ikoyi.
Africa Today News, New York had a fortnight ago reported that Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered the demolition of three two-storey buildings in the highbrow Banana Island, Ikoyi.
Sanwo-Olu gave the order on Saturday during an assessment of the site where a seven-storey building caved in two weeks ago.
At 310 Close, the governor ordered the demolition of the structure because it was erected without approval, NAN reports.
At 306 Close, the governor ordered the removal of two buildings adjacent to each other because they were constructed under powerline and water.
The governor blamed the April 12 incident on the developers and other citizens that wanted to make quick money.
Sanwo-Olu also fingered the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing and National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, for allegedly granting an extension of the Banana Island line.
He added that the Lagos building officers were also not doing their jobs efficiently, saying those found culpable would be sanctioned.
