The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has charged President Bola Tinubu to ensure a good balance in the appointment of Security Chiefs and other top political positions that will help stabilise his government.
CAN further admonished President Tinubu to take a proactive stance in ensuring that the appointments he will be making reflect the diversity of Nigeria and that the best individuals are selected for positions.
The president of CAN, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, who made this call in a press statement yesterday said Nigerians are looking forward to an administration that will address the injustices and unfairness of the past, and they hope that President Tinubu will use the opportunity of these appointments to allay the fears of Nigerians.

‘We again congratulate President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his assumption of office as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
‘We recognize that he is taking office at a time when virtually all sectors of the country are yearning for attention and we wish to advise the President to ensure a good balance in the appointment of Security Chiefs and other top political positions that will help stabilize his government.
‘It is crucial that the appointments reflect the diversity of Nigeria, and that qualified individuals from different religious and ethnic backgrounds are allowed to serve in these positions.

In another report, the Senate had on Tuesday approved a request from President Tinubu to appoint some unnamed 20 special advisers.
The president’s request was read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan during plenary on Tuesday.
Lawan pointed out that it was of ‘utmost urgency’ that the President had his team to work with.
‘Because there is no name for special advisers we will just approve it from here. We feel that that this is something of utmost urgency,’ he disclosed.
As soon as the President’s letter was read, the upper legislative chamber gave speedy approval to the request.
