Super Falcons star Nicole Payne, has been signed by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) the club has confirmed.
In a statement announcing Payne’s arrival, the French outfit said; ‘Paris Saint-Germain are delighted to announce the arrival of Nicole Payne. The Nigerian international defender joins the Rouge et Bleu until June 2026’
‘Paris Saint-Germain would like to welcome Nicole to the Rouge et Bleu squad,’ they added.
The player was part of the Nigerian side that finished fourth at the 2022 African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco.
She was born in Birmingham (Alabama, USA) where she started her football career.

Nicole featured for the US at U15, U16, U17, and U18 levels before teaming up with the Super Falcons in 2021. So far, she has made two appearances for the Africans.
But she was not part of Nigeria’s team for the 2023 World Cup taking place in Australia and New Zealand.
Africa Today News, New York recall that Super Falcons Chief Coach, Randy Waldrum, had early last month released the squad list of players for this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand
The list of 23 players was published on the Twitter handle of the Nigerian Football Federation on Friday.
The names on the list include Francisca Ordega, Assiat Oshoala, Ashleigh Plumptre, Onome Ebi, Desire Oparanozie, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Rasheedat Ajibade, Uchenna Kanu, Christy Ucheibe and Gift Monday.
Others are Halimatu Ayinde, Ifeoma Onumonu, Toni Payne, Jennifer Echegini, Michelle Alozie Tochukwu Oluehi, Yetunde Balogun, Deborah Abiodun, Rofiat Imuran, Osinachi Ohale, Ijeoma Okoronkwo and Tosin Demehin.
The Super Falcons will face co-host Australia, Olympic champions Canada and debutant Republic of Ireland in Group A.
Their first match will be against Canada on July 21 before facing Australia on July 27. They will end their group matches against the Republic of Ireland on July 31.
