Tinubu Will Send 2nd Batch Of Ministerial Nominees Soon – CoS

The Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has admitted that the current administration may create new ministries from the existing ones even as he confirmed that the second batch of nominees will be sent to the Senate in the coming days. 

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives made this disclosure while addressing State House correspondents on Thursday in Abuja.

Africa Today News, New York reports that Gbajabiamila had submitted the ministerial list to the National Assembly on Thursday, and it was read by current Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

“Mr President intends to separate portfolios or restructure the ministries in such a way that you might be hearing of new ministries that were not standalone ministries before. So the process continues,” Gbajabiamila said.

The 28 minister-nominees include names like Nyesom Wike, David Umahi, Abubakar Momoh, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Ahmed Dangiwa, Hannatu Musawa, Chief Uche Nnaji, Dr Betta Edu and Dr Doris Aniche Uzoka.

Gbajabiamila also confirmed that a second list made up of 13 names would be sent to the National Assembly, adding that this was part of the process of having a cabinet for the administration.

Meanwhile, some states failed to make the list of ministerial nominees.

The states are listed as follows:

1. Adamawa

2. Bayelsa

3. Gombe

4. Kano

5. Kebbi

6. Kogi

7. Lagos

8. Nasarawa

9. Osun

10. Yobe

11. Zamfara.

In the meantime, Festus Keyamo who is the immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has reacted to President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial list.

Keyamo congratulated all the ministerial nominees picked by President Bola Tinubu.

Tweeting, Keyamo said: ‘Huge congratulations to all the ministerial nominees by the President

@officialABAT; very well deserved.’

The list was presented to the Senate by Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
