The President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday read the names of 19 more ministerial nominees sent by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through his Chief of Staff.
Among them are Ahmed Gwarzo, Bello Matawalle, Ibrahim Gaidam, Simon Lalong, Adegboyega Oyetola, Lola Adejo, Abdullahi Aliyu, and Abubakar Audu.
Africa Today News, New York recalls that last Thursday, Tinubu sent 28 nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
Meanwhile, Senator Abdula’ziz Yari (APC-Zamfara) has reassured the public that the Senate is putting forth its best efforts to carry out a thorough assessment of President Bola Tinubu‘s proposed ministerial candidates.
Speaking to reporters after his private visit to Vice-President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday in Abuja, Yari shared his insights on the Senate’s efforts regarding President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial nominees.
Yari expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial nominations, stating that they have been devoid of any mistakes.
‘The Senate believe strongly that Tinubu has done thorough deep investigation about the credibility of each and every person brought on board.’
‘Take a bow and go you saw yesterday (Monday) is a tradition in the National Assembly. Anybody that is seen to take a bow and go is either one of the prominent person that served Nigeria for a long or his track record is known to every Nigerian.’
‘And the National Assembly has a tradition if you served as a Senator or a Honourable member of the House of Representatives is an honour to read your Curriculum Vitae and maybe explain yourself which they all have the record to ask you to take a bow and go.’
