Bankole Oginni, a football coach, has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command on charges of allegedly murdering his former partner, a 45-year-old woman.
The heinous crime was reportedly committed by 45-year-old Oginni at his residence in Oke-Aro, Akure, the state capital.
Based on information from sources, the suspect is said to have used a phone call to lure his victim to his residence.
The revelation from one of the sources indicated that Oginni was apprehended in the act when the deceased was tracked to his residence after she failed to return home following her Saturday visit.
Speaking about the situation, the daughter of the deceased, who was in distress and wished to keep her identity undisclosed, revealed that she resolved to visit Oginni’s residence to check on her mother’s whereabouts as she was unable to get through to her via phone.

She recounted that the grievous sight that awaited her in the suspect’s living room was her mother’s lifeless body, tied with a rope.
Moreso, the victim’s daughter revealed the gruesome detail that her mother’s stomach had been brutally torn open, and there were discernible marks on her body that pointed to scars inflicted by hot water.
While confirming the incident, the Police spokesperson in the state, Olufumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed that the suspect is already in custody, with the remains of the deceased deposited in the morgue.
