Samuel Ortom who is the former Governor of Benue State, has asserted that he is ready to make himself available to the authorities to respond to issues bordering on his administration whenever the need arises.
Ortom, who lost his bid for a Senatorial seat on the Peoples Democratic Party made this known in a statement by his Media Aide, Mr Terver Akase, on Wednesday night, in Makurdi, the state capital.
‘I am capable of responding to the issues being raised against me and other officials of my government and I have always made known my belief in the rule of law.
‘I am ready to make myself available to respond to issues bordering on my administration whenever the need arises,’ Ortom said.

He called on his supporters not to heat up the polity but to remain calm and law abiding in the face of alleged provocation by the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.
Ortom appreciated concerns expressed by different people over his alleged harassment through petitions to anti-graft agencies, as well as arrests of his appointees and impoundment of his vehicles.
The former governor also sued for calm and urged those making statements regarding the situation to exercise restraint and not to heat up the polity.
Recall that recently, the asset recovery committee set up by Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia surprised Nigerians when they raided the automobile workshop owned by former governor Samuel Ortom with towing vehicles and removed a number of vehicles.
Alia, through his Chief Press Secretary, Kula Tersoo, had a fortnight ago alleged that government vehicles, numbering 29, were allegedly looted by the past governor.
A source told Africa Today News, New York on Wednesday that the asset recovery committee stormed Ortom’s automobile workshop on Tuesday afternoon but were resisted by the workers there.
