Nigeria’s immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari has boasted that his administration saved Nigeria from humongous corruption.
According to Buhari, his administration actually saved Nigeria from corrupt undertones which were planted to expose Nigeria’s economy to collapse.
He made this disclosure on Monday in a statement by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, in response to the allegations raised against him by former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adokie, over Process & Industrial Developments (P&ID), Paris Club, and the Ajaokuta steel company.
The former president said the cases identified by Adokie originated from an administration that the former Attorney General was part of.

Buhari stressed that his administration inherited the contract and incidental judgement in the P&ID.
The statement which was obtained by Africa Today News, New York reads partly: ‘The logical conclusion any reasonable person can draw on P&ID, Paris Club, and Ajaokuta is that President Buhari came on a rescue mission and effectively saved Nigeria from corrupt undertones that were planted to expose its economy to imminent collapse. The success of the Buhari administration in the fight against corruption is unprecedented.’
Africa Today News, New York had recently reported that Matthew Kukah, who is the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, has asserted that Nigerians witnessed the worst phase of corruption under the last administration led by President Buhari.
Bishop Kukah pointed out that although corruption did not start under the last administration, they amplified it in moral, financial and other terms.
‘We have seen the worst phase of corruption in Nigeria, Femi Falana, my friend here will speak about that because he has published a series of articles talking about what happened under the Buhari administration.
‘They were not the ones who caused corruption but I think in the last administration, we saw the ugliest phase of corruption whether in moral terms, financial terms and other terms,’ Kukah said.
The clergyman lamented that Nigeria is sharing its sovereignty which is guaranteed in the constitution with bandits and other terrorists.
