Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, expresses his delight as the final kidnapped pupil of Bethel Baptist High School, Treasure Ayubac, is released from captivity after a year.
A school located in Damishi, Kaduna, linked to a church, fell victim to an attack by gunmen on the morning of July 5, 2021, resulting in the abduction of 121 students.
In a statement delivered on Saturday, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Shehu, conveyed the governor’s elation over the progress.
While thanking God for His divine intervention, Sani expressed gratitude to those ‘that have been unrelenting in efforts and prayers to ensure the safe return of Ayuba.’
Sani also assured all that the state government would continue to give security agencies all the support required to ensure that schools in the state were safe and secure.

He said, ‘The released pupil was among the 121 children who were kidnapped by bandits in July 2021 from their school premises in Maraban Damishi, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.’
‘Treasure Ayuba has since been reunited with his loved ones.’
Africa Today News, New York, has reported that the Nigeria Baptist Convention confirmed the release of Treasure Ayuba, who was abducted on July 5, 2021, during Thursday night.
The Nigeria Baptist Convention President, Rev Dr Israel Akanji, had on Thursday, said: ‘Glory be to God! Glory be to God!! Glory be to God!!! Treasure Ayuba, the last boy who was still with the bandits who kidnapped the 121 students of Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna, on July 5, 2021, has just returned home today, November 2, 2023.’
