A female Israeli soldier was seriously wounded in a knife attack by a Palestinian assailant in annexed East Jerusalem on Monday. The police reported that the attacker was subsequently shot dead.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian health ministry confirmed that in Halhul, located in the southern occupied West Bank, Israeli forces killed a young Palestinian man and inflicted serious injuries on three others.
‘A terrorist armed with a knife arrived at Shalem police station and stabbed a female soldier… border police forces neutralised the terrorist by shooting,’ police said in a statement.
It was confirmed by the police that one female soldier was seriously injured, and another soldier had minor injuries.
Israeli emergency services announced that they had given medical care to the injured, and both are 20 years old.
Police established that the assailant was a young Palestinian from the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya.
Furthermore, it was reported that a second suspect was arrested near the scene of the attack, and the area has been cordoned off.

The situation highlights the latest eruption of violence in the area, coinciding with Israel’s escalated military operations in Gaza.
The police reported that on October 30th, an Israeli police officer was seriously wounded in a stabbing by a Palestinian in East Jerusalem, with the assailant being shot dead.
Israeli military operations in Gaza have intensified in response to the October 7 attacks by Hamas, which officials claim resulted in the deaths of around 1,400 people, primarily civilians, and the abduction of over 240 individuals.
Since the onset of hostilities on October 7, over 150 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli soldiers or settlers in the West Bank, as reported by the Palestinian health ministry.
Israeli forces have conducted extensive airstrikes and deployed ground troops in the Gaza Strip. According to the health ministry in the Hamas-controlled Palestinian territory, the casualties have reached 9,770 people, with approximately two-thirds of them being women and children.
