The governor underscored the connection between development and quality healthcare delivery, citing it as the driving force behind the establishment of the state-of-the-art facility.
Fubara detailed that his aspirations for the people of Rivers resonate with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, centered on the restoration and enhancement of the economy and social well-being of the citizens.
Fubara, addressing the audience at Kelsey Harrison Hospital, called upon the people and residents of Rivers to protect essential infrastructure and social services provided for them as partners, allowing them to play a role in the effective functioning of these facilities.
He noted that the hospital has been renovated and made functional with taxpayers’ money. ‘This requires that the people who will use it and host community dwellers own it by ensuring that it is not vandalized or the equipment misused,’ he said.
Additionally, the governor pledged to reconstitute the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital Board and the Healthcare Management Board soon to handle employment issues in the health sector, allowing their participation in the ongoing recruitment of 10,000 individuals.
