In Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, a High Court granted bail for Cassidy Ikegbidi, the former Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Ngozi Onugwo, a monarch, and five co-accused individuals.
The Trial Judge, Justice Sika Aprioku, granted bail to the duo in the sum of N10 million each, requiring one surety each to vouch for their release during the bail application proceedings.
The trial involves allegations of the murder of Bako Angbanshin, the Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada East LGA, in Odumude community, Rivers State, purportedly carried out by suspected Iceland cult gangs.
Onugwo, who is the Eze Ekpeye Logbo, the former council boss and the others were granted bail on health grounds.
The Trial Judge, Justice Sika Aprioku in his ruling on their bail application, granted the duo bail of N10 million each with one surety in like sum.

Justice Aprioku said the sureties must be the level of Permanent Secretary in the Civil Service or a Government recognised traditional ruler from the Ahoada axis of the state.
The Judge also granted bail of N5 million to the five others and surety in like sum who must be a level 16 Civil Servant, bringing the total to N45 million.
Justice Aprioku ordered the accused persons to deposit their travel documents such as passports at the court.
The case was adjourned to 8 and 13 of December for trial.
The accused are standing trial on charges ranging from alleged conspiracy to murder of SP Bako Angbashim, former Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Police Division.
