The President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu has vowed to provide Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State with all the necessary support to ensure rapid development and economic sustainability of the state.
The president made the pledge while speaking at the second term inauguration ceremony of the governor, in Owerri yesterday.
Tinubu described Uzodinma as a hardworking and industrious leader whose antecedents resonate the progressive agenda of his renewed Hope administration.
He pledged to cooperate with the Imo State government in order to make sure that the people reap the full benefits of democracy.
He also reassured the people of Imo and all of Nigeria that the suffering brought on by the elimination of fuel subsidies is, at most, short-lived, and he asked them to hold onto their hope.

He also promised substantial development in the areas of education, industrialisation and healthcare delivery.
“We are working assiduously to bring back the glory days of Imo and Nigeria at large through holistic investments in infrastructure, education and the healthcare sector.
“I assure you that you have gotten a good, dependable, hardworking democrat as governor, who would both think and do the needful “, he said.
In his acceptance speech, after he was sworn in, the governor thanked the president and his entourage for finding time to identify with Imo people.
He thanked the people for their massive support as evidenced in their votes cast for him in the November 11 governorship election.
Uzodinma promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by consolidating on his achievements and taking the state to the next level.
Africa Today News, New York recalls that Uzodinma had emerged victorious in the governorship election in Imo State held on the 11th of November last year.
The election results pronounce Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress as the winner with 540,308 votes, while Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party trails with 71,503 votes.
The state Returning Officer, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, who serves as the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, announced the election results on Sunday morning at INEC’s state collation center in Owerri.
Athan Achonu from the Labour Party secured the third position in the election with a total of 64,081 votes.
Anthony Ejiogu, representing the All Progressives Grand Alliance, clinched the fourth spot with 6,392 votes, while Jack Ogunewe of the Action Alliance followed in fifth place with 5,756 votes.
