London side, Chelsea held on to defeat Newcastle United 3-2 at the Stamford Bridge on Monday night as their push to end the premier league in the top four earned a lifeline.
Cole Palmer opened the goals galore barely six minutes into the game. He took aim and his effort deflected off Nicolas Jackson to beat the goalkeeper.
Newcastle equalised shortly before the break. Alexander Isak did not hesitate to lash home from just outside the box. He hit the ball precisely into the bottom right corner and it nestled in the net.
Chelsea doubled their lead in the 58th minute. Cole Palmer was the scorer as he latched on to a pass and produced a perfect strike from the edge of the box. The ball went inside the right post and past the goalkeeper.

The homers made it 3-1 in the 76th minute. Mykhailo Mudryk made a great solo run and pulled the trigger from inside the box, beating Martin Dubravka with a low strike into the middle of the goal.
Jacob Murphy scored in the 90th minute for Newcastle to make it 3-2. He blasted the ball towards goal from the edge of the penalty box and it flew straight into the top right corner of the net.
