The terrorist threat level in France has been elevated to “extreme danger of terrorist attack” in the wake of the violent incident at the Crocus City Hall concert venue close to Moscow.
The latest development was reported by Le Figaro newspaper, which referenced a statement from Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
According to reports from French media, President Emmanuel Macron called for a gathering of the defense council on Sunday to deliberate on the terrorist attack near Moscow and its aftermath.
The report further mentioned that France had purportedly been subjected to threats of terrorist attacks within its territory.
A shooting occurred on Friday evening in the Crocus City Hall concert venue in the city of Krasnogorsk, outside Moscow, followed by a massive fire.
A Sputnik correspondent who witnessed the attack reported that at least three men in camouflage had broken into the music hall, shooting people point-blank and throwing incendiary bombs.

The Russian authorities said that at least 137 people were killed in the attack, while Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of RT and the Rossiya Segodnya media group, said the death toll had reached 143 people.
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that eleven individuals were taken into custody in connection with the attack, with four among them directly involved.
The FSB added that all four suspected shooters were apprehended in the Russian region of Bryansk, situated along the border with Belarus and Ukraine.
The Basmanny District Court in Moscow announced on Sunday that the four suspects had been charged with terrorism and were ordered to be held in pretrial detention until May 22.
These individuals, all of whom are Tajikistan nationals, are now confronting the grim possibility of receiving a life sentence in prison.
