The head Coach of the Super Eagles, Finidi George has assured Nigerians that he will deliver on his assignment and raise a team Nigerians will be proud of.
Africa Today News, New York reports that Finidi was formerly unveiled by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), yesterday in Abuja.
Top representatives from the NFF and the Ministry of Sports, together with Minister of Sports John Enoh, attended the unveiling ceremony.
The 53-year-old’s assistants were also revealed at the event.
Speaking after his unveiling, Finidi said in a video posted on the NFF YouTube channel: “This is a great opportunity given to me to manage the Super Eagles. It is not an easy job for anybody but I’m so happy. For me, it’s just to start working immediately, which I’ve been doing even before signing this contract.

“I just want to say a big thank you for this great opportunity and I believe the God that has brought me here will make everything perfect.
“My job is to make Nigerians and the football federation proud and I believe I will not let anybody down and make sure we get the job done.”
Finidi said that a player must play consistently at the club level and be unwaveringly dedicated to making the national team.
Speaking to reporters, Finidi stated: “Selection of players? You have to be playing at your club and you must have that commitment.
“We all said the pledge and for me as a coach, that’s what I’m going to do. For me, Nigeria is first because I have been out of this country and I know the treatment we get outside of this country.
“I put Nigeria first and that is the same commitment and loyalty from each and every player that is invited. If you can do that, you are good to go.”
