The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory criticised Rotimi Amaechi on Friday during the commissioning of the newly rehabilitated Aguma Palace Road and New Market Road in Gwagwalada Area Council by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Both Amaechi and Wike have previously held the position of governor in Rivers State. Amaechi led the state from May 2007 to May 2015, after which he handed over to Wike, who went on to complete his own eight-year tenure between 2015 and 2023.
Amaechi stated that the Tinubu administration has mismanaged the economy, adding that the previous government of Muhammadu Buhari, in which she served as a minister, was far more effective than the current one.

But his political rival, Wike, has dismissed Amaechi’s presidential aspiration, saying the ex-minister will never return to power.
“Because you have left office, you are angry. You said Nigerians are angry. You want to come back to power; you won’t come back,” Wike stated.
The FCT minister also challenged Amaechi and his friends in the ADC coalition to “show their scorecards.”
On Friday, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory took a swipe at Rotimi Amaechi during a ceremony where Vice President Kashim Shettima inaugurated the refurbished Aguma Palace Road and New Market Road in Gwagwalada Area Council, Abuja.
Amaechi and the current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, share a long political history, having both governed Rivers State at different times. Amaechi served as governor from 2007 to 2015 before handing over to Wike, who then led the state for another eight years until 2023.
