Liverpool have reignited their pursuit of striker Alexander Isak, submitting a fresh bid worth around £130 million, including bonuses, as the summer transfer window nears its conclusion. The deal proposed by the Premier League champions could become Britain’s most expensive transfer to date.
This follows an earlier, unsuccessful offer of £110 million. Newcastle United had previously rejected that bid, insisting Isak was not for sale. However, recent developments—including the club agreeing to sign striker Nick Woltemade—appear to have softened their stance.

Notably, Isak has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Liverpool that includes a contract running through June 2030, with an option to extend it to June 2031. This shows the club’s intent to secure the striker long-term.
Isak has remained out of Newcastle’s first-team training amid the transfer saga. Manager Eddie Howe has denied any promises were made regarding his departure but acknowledged the player’s persistent desire to leave.
Financially, Newcastle are preparing for life without Isak. They’ve already signed Woltemade for a club-record fee and are targeting other forwards such as Brentford’s Yoane Wissa and Wolves’ Jørgen Strand Larsen to reinforce their attack.
Should Liverpool’s bid be accepted, it would eclipse their own record fee of £116 million for Florian Wirtz and smash the British transfer record.
With the transfer deadline looming, the next 48 hours could be pivotal. Liverpool appear confident Newcastle will accept the improved offer. If completed, Isak would strengthen a fierce attacking lineup.
