The head coach of the Zimbabwean national team, Baltemar Brito has declared that the Warriors are not scared of the Super Eagles and will be out to destroy them later today.
The Brazilian will be looking to mastermind an upset when the Warriors entertain the Super Eagles at the Huye Stadium in Butare on Sunday afternoon.
The Southern Africans head into the game as the underdogs. The Super Eagles have in their ranks some of the best players on the continent.
Brito, who took charge of the Warriors less than three months ago, said his team will come out strong against the visitors.
‘At this level, all opponents play to win. Even we [Zimbabwe] will play for a win against Nigeria,’ Baltemar stated in a short video posted on the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) X handle.

‘People will expect revenge from Nigeria because they drew their first game [against Lesotho].
‘But they are not playing against a small or weak nation. They will come strong, but we will come strong too. We are here to face them.’
Meanwhile, Kenneth Omeruo has insisted that the Super Eagles have no choice than to beat the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles are in a precarious situation after they could only salvage a draw from last Thursday’s clash against
Lesotho.
The West Africans will need maximum points against the Warriors to get their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying back on track after the disappointment of the 1-1 home draw against Lesotho.
Omeruo declared that they are in for serious business and can’t afford another disappointing result.
‘We are on a redemption mission; a serious business is what we have come for. The pitch is poor but we can’t be bothered right now. We want to get into action and pick up three points,’ the Kasimpasa defender told thenff.com.
Sunday’s (today) encounter at the Huye Stadium, Butare, will kick-off at 2pm Nigeria time.
