He also alleged that the Islamic cleric was sowing the seed of discord in the country and inciting Muslims against Christians by telling bandits that Muslim soldiers were the ones neutralising them and not in any way helping the country.
He, therefore, urged the Department of State Services to summon the cleric and question him for incitement.

‘Sheikh Gumi should be answering questions with the DSS,’ he said, adding that, ‘Sheikh Gumi should be summoned by the DSS to back up his claim that Christian soldiers are the ones killing Muslims.’
Of late, Sheikh Gumi has been seen in photos holding talks with notorious bandits in the forests of Zamfara, Niger and other states. He had also advocated blanket amnesty for the bandits like was done for the militants in the Niger Delta region.
