The Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra(IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed that he and his organisation, will ensure that Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) commonly referred to as Fulani herdsmen will forever regret their decision if they eventually settle in the South-East of Nigeria, which Kanu and his organisation have been agitating for her freedom from the country following the marginalisation the region has been witnessing from the Federal Government of Nigeria thus far, Africa Daily News, New York reports.
Kanu responding to Miyetti Allah’s demand from the South-East Governors yesterday in a meeting to establish their own vigilante group, and cattle rearing business in the South-Eastern region, took to his verified Facebook page today @MaziNnamdiKanuTheLeaderIPOB, to issue a press statement condemning the demand from Miyetti Allah, and the leniency at which the Chairman of the South-East Governors, Engineer Dave Umahi, and his colleagues took the message considering the violence associated with Miyetti Allah.
The Governor of Ebonyi state, who was represented in the meeting by his deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe was quoted to have said, “We will continue to accommodate the Miyetti Allah but our plea to them is that as we are magnanimous to allow settlers, every community has a custom that need not to be violated. It is the violation that breeds problem.”
“I believe that at the end, resolutions will generate further national dialogue, promote agenda setting and a solution to the lingering national insecurity. All we need is the good idea of one or two men to find direction and I believe this summit will do that.”
