COVID-19: MURIC Advises Nigerian Muslims On VaccinationMURIC director Ishaq Akintola

In continuation to the social media showoff between former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode and MURIC director Ishaq Akintola, the latter took to his twitter page to dole out some bible verses in retaliation to Femi Fani-Kayode’s verbal onslaught yesterday.

He also asked security agencies to hold Femi Fani-Kayode if any harm should befall him as there has been a lot of threats to his life since he called out the former Aviation minister and his father.

Read his reply below:

Femi Fani-Kayode again attacked me today, Sunday, 2nd February, 2020. Nigerians should note that he was the first to attack me last week and I responded. He will get some response to his latest attack of today but I intend to react fully later.

He was abusive as usual but that does not bother me. I cannot use that type of dirty language because my training is different. But I call attention to the fact that his message today lacks substance. He came up with nothing new except arrogant boasts.

He kept accusing me of betraying the Yoruba without substantiating his allegation with something concrete that I did personally to my tribe. Yet he failed to address the historical fact that his father was the biggest traitor of the Yoruba people. This is a historical fact.

Or is there any Yoruba man who will dispute the facts I laid bare about Chief Remi Ade Fani-Kayode’s role in sabotaging the efforts of our great political hero, Chief Obafemi Awolowo? Any Yoruba leader today who knows the facts will not listen to Femi Fani-Kayode.

But that is a matter for other days. Today I am more concerned with Femi Fani-Kayode’s attitude. I pity this man. His attack today was full of boastful arrogance, the type any God-fearing man should not engage in.

I will not exchange boasts with him because my religion (Islam) teaches humility and I must abide by its teaching. Qur’an 31:18 warns against boastfulness, arrogance and pride.

It says, “Swell not thy cheek (in pride) at people. Do not walk in insolence through the earth, for Allah loveth not any arrogant boaster.” This is what Islam teaches: humility. I am shocked at Fani-Kayode’s use of language and it is very clear that we don’t belong to same class.

But does Fani-Kayode follow the teachings of his own religion? Does Christianity permit arrogance, pride and boastfulness? Mathew 23:12 says, “Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled, and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.”

Fani-Kayode boasts of greatness and referred to me as unfit to kiss his feet or lick his shoes. Of course I am a poor man and my friends know that I always refer to myself as a poor teacher. But I am contented and I thank Allah for my life.

Fani-Kayode’s bible says, “And the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away.” (James 1:10). But does this man follow his bible’s teachings?

Even his bible opposes him! James 4:6 says, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Again, Proverbs 16:18 warns, “Pride goes before fall, and a haughty spirit before stumbling.”

Finally, the bible even assured that “The reward of humility and fear of the Lord Are riches, honour and life.” Therefore I am contented in my simple life for I am rich in my heart and soul. I do not steal public money and EFCC is not looking for me.

I alert the security agencies to Fani-Kayode’s inciting statements against my person. There have been threats to my life in the past week. Fani-Kayode and his cohorts should be held responsible if anything should happen to me.
