Relaxing COVID-19 Lockdown Is ‘Arrant Nonsense’ – BNYL
The Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, on Sunday described the relaxation of the COVID-19 lockdown by some Governors as “arrant nonsense”.

BNYL made the remark in a reaction to the statewide broadcast by the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano who said churches and markets should reopen but state boundaries should remain closed.

The group said it prefers “lockdown to relaxation”.

It stated this in a statement by Chinwo Mekaoke, Special Assistant on Social Media to it’s Deputy National Leader, Ebuta Takon Akor.

According to the statement, the group, ”is still not comfortable with the relaxation, a total lockout should be done to avoid youthful reactions.”

The statement reads: “The government cannot be playing pranks with peoples survival, the relaxation is not enough, it is arrant nonsense, we demand total lockout and not relaxation.”

BNYL also dismissed reports of massive deaths in Kano, adding that it was a trick to create fears and prolong the lockdown nationwide.

“If such a thing happened, then the Almajiris have infected the state with a disease and not Coronavirus,” the statement added.
