Moved by recent statements credited to Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere popularly known as Odumeje where the prophet allegedly challenged a native doctor, Omor Perry, son of late Pericoma and some traditional worshipers in Arondizuogu, Imo State to spiritual contest, the Eze Ndigbo Mekong River, comprising six nations in Asia, HRH Eze Uzochukwu Jerome Ezeneche (Eze Nwatagwuosimiri), has called on Odumeje to thread softly by according due respect to Igbo culture and traditions.
In a statement which was also broadcasted on his face book account, Ezeneche who described Odumeje as a philanthropist who has done a lot in this COVID-19 period to donate to the needy said he was surprise to hear the prophet ridiculing Igbo traditional worshipers from Arondizuogu describing people of the community as poor.
The royal father lamented that it is only in Africa that people treat their sacred tradition with disdain. “While the Europeans convert their totems to object of tourisms in museums, we brand our own traditions as idolatry.” He said unless this myopic and colonial hangover are discarded, Africans will continue to wallow in ignorance and backwardness”
Ezeneche reminded Odumeje that contrary to his claim that Arondizuogu people are poor, the community has produced illustrious sons of Igboland which includes the likes of Amazon of songs, Onyeka Owenu, the late Pericoma and others. He said beyond mere apologies, Odumeje should do a video where he should recant all the embarrassing words he has allegedly said about Arondizuogu people.
