The leadership of the House of Representatives has concluded plans to intervene in the arrest and arraignment of one of its members from Rivers State, Farah Dagogo.
Africa Today News, New York gathered that the decision of the House is sequel to a motion raised by Honourable Chisom Dike calling for the urgent release of the lawmaker.
Recall that Farah Dagogo, who is also a governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was arrested on the order of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on the 28th of April and arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt on the 29th April.

The Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, expressed concern that the lawmaker is still in police custody despite the charge against him being bailable.
He, however, insisted that the house will not take a position but rely on the law to take its course.
Africa Today News, New York reports that this was coming less than a week after nine States of the Niger Delta region under the auspices of the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide (IYC) called for the immediate release of the member of the Federal House of Representatives who was arrested over series of allegations bothering on violence against at the secretariat of the PDP in the State.
IYC lamented that despite their appeal to Wike to rescind his arrest order against Dagogo, he still went ahead to arrest and arraigned him in court, describing it as disrecptful.
Accordingly the group stated that in the interest of peace, the charges should be dropped noting that his trial was politically motivated.
In a statement issued by its spokesman, IYC Ebilade Erekefe asserted that Wike and the PDP should be reminded that Dagogo is an Ijaw son and his persecution is a persecution of all Ijaws in the Niger Delta.
