In a very suprising development, the Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has lost the Government House, Osogbo polling unit to Senator Ademola Adeleke, his closest rival of the opposition party, PDP in the election which was held Saturday.
While Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had polled 117 votes at Agowande/ Oshogbo GRA/ Governor’s office polling unit, Governor Oyetola, who had run on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had trailed behind him with close to 106 votes.

The polling unit is in Olorunda Local Government Area.
However, Oyetola did not vote there.
He voted in his hometown of Iragbiji, Boripe LGA where he beat Adeleke by a wide margin.
In another report, Fasiu Adeyinka who is the Acting Commander-General (ACG), the Zonal Coordinator, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for Osun, Ondo and Ekiti, has openly lauded the electorates for a peaceful conduct of elections at the ongoing Osun State gubernatorial election.
Adeyinka had given the commendation announcement during his visit to St. Gabriel Primary School Yemoo, Moore, Ward 3 and 4, Polling Units 003 and 004, on Saturday, in Ile-Ife.
He had also revealed that the voters were calm, cool and easy going in all polling units visited without any problem.
According to him, the voters are well conducted and with no fear of anything whatsoever. The ACG appreciated the electorate for heeding their advice and sensitisation campaign to them.
“In fact, since we have been conducting elections, this 2022 election is a good example of peaceful conduct by the electorate.
“This will repeat itself in the general election, ” he stated.
